Filmmaking isn’t all genius, as some would insist. It isn’t all luck, and it isn’t all just hard work. While it’s great to have all three, there is no substitute for experience. Real life isn’t scripted; it’s random and mostly unpredictable. You only get one chance to capture that perfect shot, only one click to freeze that perfect moment. It’s that perfect moment that defines a film and makes it successful. I’ve been covering live events long enough to recognize when those unique moments approach. I instinctively know when something great is going to happen – you’ll never miss a moment.
