Rebecca Hay
Actor UBCP
Rebecca Hay was born in Listowel Ontario but raised in Toronto. Rebecca’s acting debut was in her elementary school’s production of “The Hobbit” where she played Gandolf the Grey! Acting has been her passion ever since. In High school Rebecca participated in every school play and musical she could, playing roles such as Tzeitel in “Fiddler on The Roof” and Cinderella in “Into the Woods”, winning the drama award in her graduating year.
Although Rebecca wanted to study theatre at University, she chose the “safe path” and completed a degree in Political Science and English at McGill University in Montreal. While at University she continued her theatre involvement outside school with The Alternate Theatre Company.
Upon graduating in 2004, Rebecca traveled to the south of Spain where she spent a year and a half teaching ESL and improving her Spanish. Rebecca’s passion for acting drew her back to Canada, this time to Vancouver and in December 2006 Rebecca graduated from the Vancouver Film School’s Acting Essentials program. Most recently Rebecca has appeared in various independent feature films as well as ABC’s Men in Trees.
